  • The Irvine Unified School District is seeking candidates for a new committee that will oversee the spending of a $319 million bond recently approved by voters to upgrade aging facilities.

  • Orange County is mourning the loss of Marian Bergeson, a political pioneer who became the first woman ever to hold seats in both the state Senate and Assembly. Bergeson, who was 90, also served as a school board member, a county supervisor and California’s Secretary of Education.
