Two Orange County Classified School Employees of the Year win state honors

State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tom Torlakson today announced the selection of the 2015 California Classified School Employees of the Year, including two winners from Orange County.

The 2015 California Classified School Employees of the Year from Orange County are Janelle Cranch, buyer technician from the Irvine Unified School District’s main office, and Alfredo Perez, head custodian at Rea Middle School in the Newport-Mesa Unified School District.

The annual state program recognizes six outstanding classified school employees, each representing one of the following categories: child nutrition; maintenance, operations and facilities; office and technical support; para-educator and instructional assistance; support services and security; and transportation.

This year’s recipients were chosen from among 101 nominees and will be honored at a luncheon held May 18 in Sacramento.
