Orange County students are invited to meet educator-astronaut Aymette Medina Jorge and explore hands-on STEAM activities at STEAM Race to Space Day on Sept. 19. The free event will kick off the annual STEAM Race to Space Reading Challenge, which uses books, real-world experiences and student incentives to encourage reading and STEAM exploration.
Before kicking off on Oct. 3, the annual S.T.E.A.M. Race to Space Reading Challenge has welcomed three new science-focused partner organizations to offer unique prizes, educational supports and new ways to inspire young readers.
Twelve Orange County students got to visit NASA’s Jet Propulsion Lab after crushing their reading goals in the STEAM Race to Space Reading Challenge, a countywide literacy initiative designed to spark interest in science, technology, engineering, the arts and mathematics.
