With the county now in Phase 1B, OC residents are encouraged to register through a testing management app called Othena to find out when they’re eligible for the vaccine. After losing their home to the devastating Bond Fi After losing their home to the devastating Bond Fire, the longtime caretaker of @Insidetheoutdoors site and her family were recipients of a surprise act of kindness. 

Stephanie Smith, who has lived at Rancho Soñado for nearly 20 years, was presented with a check for $2,000 courtesy of Cops Care, a program created by Trauma Intervention Program (TIP) Orange County and the @OCsheriff to aid families impacted by crises.

It is with deep sadness that we report Rancho Soñ It is with deep sadness that we report Rancho Soñado, the headquarters for OCDE’s @InsidetheOutdoors environmental education program, was overtaken this week by the Bond Fire.  No OCDE staff members were injured; however, many animals housed on site did not survive the blaze. 

While there is no timetable yet for rebuilding, a “Rebuild Inside the Outdoors” GoFundMe page has been set up to collect funds on behalf of the Inside the Outdoors Foundation. For additional information on this tragic loss, the Inside the Outdoors program  and a link to the GoFundMe page, please read our post in the OCDE Newsroom (link in bio).
