Over 1,200 pieces of student art are currently on display — both virtually and in person — as part of the 2021 OCArts4All Art Showcase, presented by OCDE’s Visual and Performing Arts team.
Created by Orange County students in public, private, charter and homeschool art programs, the pieces are available for the public to view virtually via the OCDE VAPA website through Wednesday, June 30.
Additionally, over 400 pieces of art are now exhibited on all three levels of the South Coast Plaza wing generally referred to as Crystal Court. The artwork, which will remain on display at the mall through Sunday, May 23, was chosen by a 22-member Student Art Selection team (More on that below).
What’s more, the committee also selected nearly 260 pieces of art to be showcased this summer at the Festival of Arts Show in Laguna Beach, which runs from July 5 through Sept. 3.
As part of Arts Orange County’s annual Imagination Celebration, and in partnership with Festival of Arts in Laguna Beach, the OCArts4All Showcase was designed to celebrate student art with the goal of introducing students to a wide range of creative expression.
The Student Art Selection team is made up of member from Arts Orange County, Festival of Arts, Laguna Art Museum, as well as individuals including art gallery directors, art professors, art program managers, exhibits directors and museum curators from the following institutes of higher education: Cal State Fullerton, Chapman University, Claremont Graduate University, Cypress College, Irvine Valley College, Orange Coast College, Saddleback College, Santa Ana College, University of California at Irvine, and Vanguard University.
