You don’t need an altimeter to know Canyon High’s aviation program is soaring.
Since taking off in 2014, the school’s popular Aviation I and II courses have been combining the flight lessons you’d find at a ground school for pilots with science, technology, engineering and math education.
“This course fully embodies STEM education, as well as the career readiness portion,” says instructor Steve Smith. “The aviation industry is begging for more pilots and more mechanics, and even air traffic controllers.”
Our Media Services recently visited Canyon to see what all the hype was about, and we were not disappointed. Make sure your seat backs and tray tables are in their fully upright and locked positions before clicking on the video above.
