The festivities included a presentation of our nation’s flag to former Las Positas Principal, and current Board Member, Sandi Baltes, for the service her father Private First Class Anthony Villelli provided our nation serving in the U.S. Army.

Las Positas students joined in the celebration by singing the US Armed Forces Medley, and proudly presenting their military family members to the crowd of over 500 in attendance. The ceremony concluded with the singing of the National Anthem sung by custodian Martin Cisneros, and a closing by Principal Hensley who said, “It is with great pride that we thank you for your service to our country and for protecting our freedom”.

Upon the conclusion of the ceremony, parents were invited to the library for refreshments, pictures, and a Veterans Day plaque made by the students.
