Motorists should be extra vigilant around schools as September rain soaks OC

On the heels of its latest heatwave, Orange County awoke to sheets of rain on Tuesday morning, and there’s a good chance for more precipitation throughout the day.

The National Weather Service, which issued a flood advisory lasting from 6 to 10 a.m., is forecasting a 90 percent chance of showers today and a 50 percent chance of rain this evening, mainly before 11 p.m. Officials say there’s a 20 percent of rain on Wednesday morning.

With schools back in session, drivers are advised to be extra mindful of visual hazards and slick roads, particularly during student dismissal times. Let’s be careful out there.
