New Laguna Beach Unified website earns industry award for design and function

LBUSD

Have you checked out the Laguna Beach Unified School District’s website recently?

If not, you should take a look. … We’ll wait.

LBUSD launched its new site earlier this year to strengthen communication with parents and the community, and the redesign hasn’t gone unnoticed — it’s already been named a winning entry in the Web Marketing Association’s long-running WebAward Competition. Finalsite, the firm that designed Laguna Beach’s website, picked up the 2015 WebAward for Outstanding Achievement in the category of Education Standard of Excellence.

Superintendent Dr. Sherine Smith, Chief Technology Officer Michael Morrison, Technology Teacher on Special Assignment Andy Crisp and a team of technology staff collaborated on the research, development and implementation of the site, which employs a responsive design that makes it easy to access important district news and information from any device.

“Our primary motivation for launching a new district website was due to an increase of families who utilize mobile devices to access our website,” said Morrison. “Our new design reflects a dedication to excellence through a meticulous attention to detail.”
