Orange County Superintendent of Schools Dr. Stefan Bean issued the following statement Wednesday regarding the destructive wildfires impacting Los Angeles County:
On behalf of the Orange County Department of Education, I want to express our deepest sympathy and support for all those impacted by the devastating wildfires currently burning across Los Angeles County, fueled by unprecedented and relentless winds. Our hearts are with the families who have been displaced, those who have suffered unimaginable losses and the communities striving to navigate this crisis.
We also stand in solidarity with our educational colleagues in Los Angeles County who are facing significant challenges as they work to support students, families and staff. Their resilience and commitment to their communities inspire us all.
Additionally, we extend our profound gratitude to the brave first responders who are risking their lives to protect others and safeguard property. Their heroic efforts and sacrifices are nothing short of extraordinary, and we are deeply thankful for their service.
As neighboring counties, we share not only a geographical connection but also a commitment to supporting one another in times of crisis. Orange County stands ready to assist and provide resources to help minimize disruptions and ensure continuity of education and services for those affected.
