Golden View Elementary School recently hosted its annual Environmental Showcase, offering families a unique opportunity to explore the campus, tour its 2.5-acre farm and witness firsthand the distinctive learning experience their children receive through an environmental science lens.
Naturally, students were the stars of this event. From transitional kindergarten to fifth grade, young learners displayed their civic engagement projects and demonstrated their dedication to caring for the farm and its animals.
The showcase highlighted partnerships with organizations like OCDE’s Inside the Outdoors program, Shipley Nature Center, the Orange County Water District and the Ocean Institute. Golden View also hosted its own booth where students and staff sold items grown on the farm.
OCDE’s Media Services team was on hand to capture how the Ocean View School District campus is integrating environmental science and civic engagement. Take a look.
