In the words of author Stephen King, books are “uniquely portable magic,” and now the Santa Ana Public Library has partnered with the Santa Ana Unified School District to bring a little magic to every student in the entire city.
Focused on raising literacy levels and inspiring continued academic success, the school and community partnership aims to get a library card into the hands of every one of the estimated 56,000 students attending Santa Ana schools by the end of 2017.
As seen on the library’s thermometer counter, the current total is sitting at just over 6,000 active library cards and climbing every day.
