College and Career Ready: OC Pathways students are forging futures in arts and media

As part of our “College and Career Ready” series, Orange County Department of Education Deputy Superintendent Dr. Ramon Miramontes sits down with four student ambassadors from the OC Pathways initiative who are immersed in the arts, media and entertainment pathway.

OC Pathways, which recently marked its 10th anniversary, is a countywide consortium that links education with industry. Led by OCDE, the initiative and its partnering programs are equipping students with practical work-based learning experiences while ensuring they engage in rigorous academic coursework.

The ambassadors — Dylan, Mishaal, Gigi and Finn all attend different high schools in Orange County — spoke with Dr. Miramontes about how OC Pathways has expanded their knowledge in fields of interest and allowed them to test-drive potential careers. Meanwhile, it’s also fortifying our region’s workforce.
