Orange County Superintendent of Schools Dr. Al Mijares joined MSNBC on Thursday morning to discuss OCDE’s recommendations for safely restarting school this fall.
During his interview with NBC News’ Erin McLaughlin, Dr. Mijares said the Orange County Department of Education has created a multidisciplinary plan that aligns with recommendations and guidance from the California Department of Public Health and the California Department of Education.
“We want our kids in school, that’s where they belong, ” the superintendent said. “But when you are dealing with a disease of this level, it’s something you can’t treat lightly, we have to treat it with a great degree of care.”
