Positively impacting the Orange County community and the thousands of students served by nonprofit organization Junior Achievement of Orange County are just a couple reasons why County Superintendent of Schools Dr. Al Mijares is being honored as a Spirit of JA.
Based in Costa Mesa, JA Achievement of Orange County helps prepare local students in grades K-12 to succeed in the real world by delivering educational programs that address topics related to work readiness, financial literacy and entrepreneurship.
Dr. Mijares will join eight other honorees as they are recognized at the 2022 Spirit of JA Celebration, held Thursday, July 28 at The Hotel in Huntington Beach. The organization announced the superintendent as this year’s JA Champion award winner.
The gathering is a benefit and networking event honoring those who have made significant contributions to the youth in the community through leadership, funding and volunteerism. The award recipients exemplify a personal commitment in business leadership and passion for education and success, all while empowering underserved communities.
