Parenting OC magazine asks for nominees for teacher and school employee awards

Parenting OC is seeking candidates for its 2020 School Heroes of Orange County awards program.

The magazine is once again asking school administrators, parents and students to nominate their exemplary teachers, as well as outstanding instructional assistants, custodians, office clerks, technicians and other non-certificated staff members.

Parenting OC magazine's Top Teachers of Orange County from 201.

Parenting OC received 121 nominations for last year’s awards program, which named Jackie Leimkuhler of Heritage Oak Private Education as the 2019 Top Teacher of Orange County.

Applications must be approved by each school’s principal or site director and submitted by Dec. 6. You can find out more about the criteria, categories and nomination process at parentingoc.com/school-heroes.

This recognition program is separate from OCDE’s annual Orange County Teachers of the Year program, which includes a dinner celebration at the Disneyland Hotel each fall and advances finalists to compete for state Teacher of the Year honors.

Parenting OC’s Top Teacher will appear on the cover of the magazine’s March 2020 issue, which will celebrate dozens of school heroes across all categories.

Last year, Jackie Leimkuhler of Heritage Oak Private Education was selected as the Top Teacher of Orange County by the publication’s editorial staff, while Kim de Montmorency of St. Paul’s Lutheran School was named Top Employee.
