REGISTER NOW: OC Pathways Showcase to highlight student innovation in education and workforce development

On Feb. 27, OC Pathways will be hosting its annual showcase — a student-led event designed to celebrate the future of education and workforce development.

From 4 to 7 p.m. in the Huntington Beach Pavilion of the OC Fairgrounds, the event will feature student exhibits highlighting groundbreaking projects in a variety of fields. From esports and robotics to sustainable agriculture and artificial intelligence, attendees will have the chance to see how Orange County students are leading the way in multiple industries.

In addition to exhibits, the event will offer interactive, hands-on activities that demonstrate how Career Technical Education (CTE) connects classroom learning to real-world applications. Attendees can explore how these programs prepare students for success in an evolving workforce.

The showcase will also provide valuable networking opportunities for educators, parents, students and businesses. Local businesses and organizations will be on-site to underline their role in driving progress in fields such as health care, information and communication technology, and entrepreneurship.

According to Kathy Boyd, OCDE’s director of Career Education, with so many representatives from different fields in attendance, the event offers something for everyone.

“Whether you’re a parent curious about what public education has to offer students in today’s schools, a business looking to partner with future talent or a community member eager to see the next generation shine, the OC Pathways Showcase is an event you won’t want to miss,” Boyd said.

OC Pathways works to bridge the gap between education and the workforce by creating career pathways for students. Through its mission to facilitate communication between educators, businesses and local community partners, the program aims to bolster its skill-based CTE and provide practical work-based learning experiences for students. Now in its 11th year, the OC Pathways Showcase aims to highlight these skills from students across the county.
