One-thousand Santa Ana Unified School District families received free turkeys and other food items Saturday during the fourth annual Operation Gobble turkey giveaway, held at the District Wellness Center at Lathrop Intermediate School.
School board members, staff and volunteers from various groups assisted during the event, which was presented in partnership with state Assemblyman Tom Daly’s Office, Helping Hands Santa Ana and the district.
District officials said they hope the free turkeys and other supplies will help many Santa Ana families have a more enjoyable Thanksgiving holiday.
