Savanna School District has implemented the InformaCast® Wearable Alert Badge system across its four schools, providing staff members with a discreet way to request assistance during emergencies while helping school administrators and emergency responders respond more quickly.
According to the district, the wearable badges integrate with its InformaCast® Mass Notification System, allowing staff members to quickly initiate an emergency alert when needed. The district said the system is designed to improve situational awareness and support a faster, more coordinated response during emergencies.
Strengthening campus safety
According to Singlewire Software, the developer of the InformaCast platform, Savanna School District is the first district in California to implement the integrated wearable alert badge solution across all of its campuses.
“The safety of our students and staff remains our highest priority,” Superintendent Dr. Sue Johnson said. “By deploying this integrated solution, we are reinforcing our commitment to proactive school safety and providing innovative technology when every second matters.”
The district said the implementation included staff training on badge operation, emergency procedures and scenario-based exercises to help employees become familiar with the new system.
According to the district, the implementation was engineered by Singlewire Software and carried out by ICS Service, a Southern California systems integrator specializing in life safety, security, communications and low-voltage technologies.
Savanna School District serves approximately 1,800 preschool- through sixth-grade students across four schools in Anaheim, Buena Park, Cypress and Stanton.
