There’s still time to cast a vote — or several — for the Inside the Outdoors Foundation

Have you cast your vote? Or votes?

As we mentioned late last week, the Inside the Outdoors Foundation has been named one of 10 national semifinalists in the Blue Bunny Ice Cream Helmet of Hope grant program sponsored by the Jimmie Johnson Foundation — and now it comes down to a public vote to pick the winners.

The five charities that receive the most online votes through Friday, May 6 will take home a $25,000 cash grant to expand their programs. They’ll also be treated to a Blue Bunny Ice Cream party, and their logos will be featured on Jimmie Johnson’s racing helmet during the NASCAR Sprint Cup race in August. Not too shabby.

In the video above, OCDE Chief Academic Officer Jeff Hittenberger makes his pitch for the Inside the Outdoors Foundation, which is expanding opportunities for thousands of Orange County students to learn about science and the natural environment.

Remember, unlike the presidential primaries, you can vote multiple times for the charity of your choice through the May 6 deadline.
