Orange County Superintendent of Schools Dr. Stefan Bean was featured this morning on Good Day LA in a segment recognizing Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month.
Earlier this month, FOX 11 reporter Bob DeCastro sat down with Dr. Bean to discuss his path from early childhood in Vietnam to his current role leading the Orange County Department of Education.
The story that aired Monday highlights his evacuation through Operation Babylift, his adoption by a family in San Diego and other experiences that influenced his journey in public education. Dr. Bean also reflects on the loss of his wife, Janet, and his role as a single father of four.
The full segment — which can be viewed above — is scheduled to re-air around 5:30 this evening.
