WATCH: OC Superintendent reflects on civic responsibility, unity in Election Day message

Orange County Superintendent of Schools Dr. Stefan Bean released a special Election Day message on Tuesday encouraging educators, staff and community partners to exercise their civic duty by voting.

Reflecting on his personal journey to U.S. citizenship in 1980, Dr. Bean shared what the right to vote has meant to him while highlighting the significance of Election Day as a time for Americans to come together.

“As we know, elections can bring strong feelings, and after so many months of campaigning, it’s natural to feel deeply invested,” he said. “But no matter the outcome, we must remember that we are all Americans, united by shared values, goals and interests. Here at OCDE, we’re especially dedicated to those values that bind us — ensuring the highest quality education for every student and creating opportunities that can transform lives.”
