As the oldest and largest drug prevention program in the nation, the Red Ribbon campaign highlights the critical role we all play to help young people steer clear of controlled substances.
Its signature event, Red Ribbon Week, will run from Oct. 23 to Oct. 31. This year’s theme is “Respect Yourself. Be Drug Free.”
Throughout the week, thousands of Orange County students, families, educators and community members will unite and take a visible stand against drugs, holding trainings, contests and other student-centered events.
The idea is to increase awareness about the dangers of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs, and to promote drug-free lifestyles. Wearing red ribbons signifies the commitment to prevention and education within schools and communities.
