Every year in July, OCDE’s alternative education division and the Segerstrom Center for the Arts team up to give at-risk students the chance to participate in music, dance and acting under the direction of talented arts professionals.
The program is called Summer at the Center, and this year just happens to mark its 25th anniversary.
As it has in previous years, the two-week course culminated with a pair of special musical performances that were open to the general public on Saturday. Our Media Services team was also there, and we’ll have some video highlights to share soon.
In the meantime, check out this story from KPCC Southern California Public Radio (89.3 FM).
