Competitive wrestling and kindness don’t generally go hand in hand. So this Orange County Register story caught our attention.

High school wrestlersIt’s about a Brea Olinda High sophomore who was the beneficiary of a referee’s generous call at a critical point during a match for first place.

After winning in overtime, Sebastian Guevara reportedly asked his opponent if he truly committed the infraction — an illegal hold. When his opponent said no, Sebastian handed him his gold medal.
