A new charter school, the Orange County Academy of Sciences and Arts, opened in Laguna Niguel. Several Orange County school boards have approved bond measures for the November ballot to repair, upgrade and modernize facilities. The finalists were announced for the 2016 Innovation in Education Awards, which recognizes educators, students and programs for their innovative uses of science, math and technology.
