Nina Boyd, OCDE’s associate superintendent of Community and Student Support Services, has been presented with the James L. Murdoch Lifetime Achievement Award by California’s Coalition for Adequate School Housing.

The coalition was formed in 1978 to support state and local funding for K-12 construction, and the accolade was created to honor the legacy of its first legislative advocate, the late Jim Murdoch.

Gene Hartline, the founding chair of CASH, presented the award to Boyd at the organization’s annual conference in February. In doing so, he highlighted her commitment and service, including an eight-year term on the CASH board of directors. Colleague Jenny Hannah also spoke about Boyd’s kind disposition, vision and diplomacy.

As we reported in January, Boyd was recently honored by the O.C. Martin Luther King, Jr. Hall of Fame as a Woman of Distinction for 2017.

She’s also been named the next president of the California Association of School Business Officials, with her term set to begin at the close of CASBO’s 2017 Annual Conference & California School Business Expo in April.
