The new OC Schools Directory, available at directory.ocde.us, features a searchable, mobile-friendly design with continuously updated information to help connect educators, families and community members with the right contacts.

For decades, the Orange County Schools Directory arrived annually on educators’ desks, each time with a new cover design and an updated list of school contacts.

The booklet, produced and printed by the Orange County Department of Education, proved to be popular with school and district leaders. But with frequent staffing changes and local elections, some of the details within its pages were bound to be outdated shortly after its official publication date.

To fix that, OCDE’s Communications and Media Services team has reimagined the Orange County Schools Directory as a continuously updated online resource. It’s now available at directory.ocde.us.

Unlike the printed version, the platform can be updated in real time, ensuring that the most current information is always just a click away. It’s also mobile-friendly, making it easier to look up contacts on the go, and it features a robust search function designed to connect educators, families and community members with the right person at the right time.

There’s even an OCDE services index, listing the department’s many responsibilities from A to Z. (Spoiler alert: OCDE doesn’t have any services that start with Z. … Yet.)

As part of the transition, OCDE will no longer produce printed editions of the directory. But users who prefer hard copies can print specific sections directly from the site.

To help keep the information current, OCDE will reach out regularly to its district and community partners, but the department is also asking for your help to make changes. If you spot something that needs to be corrected or added, please email communications@ocde.us.

Happy searching.
