OCDE’s Educational Services revamps website to ensure easy access to resources

From classroom instruction to leadership development, the Orange County Department of Education’s Educational Services division offers a wealth of resources designed to support educators in every facet of their work.

Whether through hands-on workshops, specialized networks or readily-available resources, teachers and school leaders across the county can access tools that help them grow, connect and make an even greater impact in their classrooms. But what specifically is available — and where can it be found?

The division’s redesigned website now makes it easier to explore and register for upcoming trainings, find downloadable resources and learn more about specific areas of support. With just a few clicks, educators can discover new ways to teach more effectively and build connections across the county.

As for what is available, Educational Services offers targeted trainings for school and district administrators, as well as training and support in areas like strengthening family-school partnerships, equity-based practices and inclusive instruction. Every month, the division hosts one-time workshops and conferences to address topics like these, many of them offered at no cost.

The division also offers large-scale support, such as in the implementation of California’s Multi-Tiered System of Support, or MTSS. OCDE provides training and technical assistance to help schools and districts build systems that align academic, behavioral and social-emotional instruction and intervention for all students. Through workshops, coaching and collaboration with school leadership teams, the division helps educators customize the MTSS framework, ensuring it meets the needs of each student.

Additionally, OCDE hosts a variety of professional learning communities and networks focused on specific subject areas and roles, including instructional coaching, counseling, special education and curriculum development to name a few. For example, OCDE’s Multilingual Consortium facilitates monthly networking opportunities for translation and interpretation professionals in hopes of sharing strategies and language resources.
