Ocean View School District Board President Gina Clayton-Tarvin and Superintendent Dr. Michael Conroy are pleased to provide essential school supplies for students.

Families with students attending the Ocean View School District will not need to add school supplies to their shopping lists this year.

The district announced in July that it will provide essential school supplies to all students by their respective school sites as they return to classrooms this September. Ocean View serves more than 8,200 children from preschool through eighth grade in the Huntington Beach area.

“One of our district’s core values is equity, and we are so pleased to be able to provide essential school supplies for every one of our students,” said Gina Clayton-Tarvin, president of the Ocean View School District Board of Trustees. “Our parents appreciate what we are doing to set students up for a successful year of learning.”

While students are welcome to bring their own supplies, the school district wants families to know that essential instructional supplies will be available throughout the year to ensure that the needs of all students are met.

The supplies include:

  • pre-sharpened No. 2 pencils and erasers
  • crayons, markers and colored pencils
  • highlighters
  • glue sticks and tape
  • pens
  • scissors
  • whiteboard and dry erase markers
  • lined and graph paper, as well as copy paper
  • composition books or spiral notebooks
  • calculator (based on grade and content)
