UCI’s School of Physical Sciences will host a physics show and lecture for K-12 students on Saturday, Feb. 2.
Adults are also welcome to attend “Adventures in Physics: From the Big Bang to Galaxies” from 1 to 3 p.m. in the campus’ Physical Science Lecture Hall. The event, featuring live demonstrations and experiments, is free and open to guests who RSVP by Jan. 30.
UCI Professor Bill Heidbrink and his team will kick off the program by demonstrating the basic ideas of energy and angular momentum conservation. Later, Professor James Bullock will explain how the cosmos transformed from a primordial soup of hydrogen and helium to billions of complex, luminous galaxies. Afterward, UCI students will host a Q&A session about life in college.
