The Fullerton School District recently expanded its facilities with a brand new hockey rink thanks to the Anaheim Ducks.

On Monday, Aug. 28, the street hockey rink was unveiled to Beechwood School staff and students during a ceremony featuring the professional hockey team’s resident DJ JoJo Maestrado and its mascot, Wild Wing. This on-campus structure marks the third rink that the Anaheim Ducks Foundation and Anaheim Ducks S.C.O.R.E. program — or, Scholastic Curriculum of Recreation and Education — have donated through their partnership with the district.

“We are extremely grateful for our partnership with the Anaheim Mighty Ducks and the Ducks S.C.O.R.E. program,” said Sung Chi, director of Educational Services for the Fullerton School District. “Their generous donation in providing a street hockey rink at Beechwood will help grow our middle school street hockey league.”

The fully-functional rink which was made possible through a grant from the Anaheim Ducks and the National Hockey League Players’ Association, will be available for practices and games for hockey teams across the district’s 20 school campuses.

Beechwood School serves students from kindergarten through eighth grade among the district’s 11,600 student population.
