Just as most Orange County students are starting to settle into their summer vacation routines, others are already back in school.
The 2017-18 school year began Monday for hundreds of students at three elementary schools in Anaheim Elementary School District. Edison, Mann and Ponderosa elementary schools each have multi-track, year-round schedules.
Teachers, administrators and other staff at these campuses welcomed students Monday with banners, balloons, and a few hugs and high-fives. Students at the 21 other Anaheim City schools with traditional calendars begin classes Aug. 14.

Across Orange County, most other students begin flowing back into classrooms for the start of the new year between Aug. 7 and Sept. 7. (Some schools in districts including Irvine Unified and Los Alamitos Unified also have year-round programs, where students will start school this month.)
Below is the first day of school for traditional calendars for each of the county’s 27 school districts.
