14th Annual Young Authors’ Faire celebrates literacy, creativity

Student literacy is an essential component of preparing students for college and career readiness. It is the goal of the Orange County Department of Education and Orange County Public Libraries to encourage reading, writing and creativity – and to highlight the efforts of young authors. To that end, student writers will have an opportunity to showcase their work, meet published authors and engage in hands-on activities at the 14th annual Young Authors’ Faire, which will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 16 at OC Public Libraries in Aliso Viejo, La Habra and Tustin. State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tom Torlakson today announced the selection of the 2015 California Classified School Employees of the Year, including two winners from Orange County. OCDE’s Academic Decathlon, Inside the Outdoors participate in day of giving

The Orange County Department of Education is joining the Orange County Community Foundation in an effort to raise money for 345 nonprofit organizations during the first-ever i♥OC Giving Day.
