On a recent Saturday morning, more than 60 Disney VoluntEARS gathered over at Rancho Soñado, the home base of OCDE’s Inside the Outdoors environmental education program, to pitch in on some much needed projects.
The local families helped restore hiking trails, refurbish propagation areas, make seed balls and create science kits for nearly two hours on April 20.
And when they were finished, there was a pretty big reveal: The Disney Family Volunteering Reward Program, which began in January 2018, had reached 2 million hours of volunteer service across the country.
In honor of the milestone, Mickey Mouse made a surprise appearance, and all of the day’s VoluntEARS walked away with complimentary Disney tickets.
