You might not have heard of MTSS, but the term is becoming more familiar among educators throughout the state. Essentially, it’s a comprehensive framework that schools are using to address each student’s academic, behavioral and social-emotional needs, and it relies on staff collaboration and data-driven decision-making. Top performers from National History Day-OC competition now headed to state finals

The results are in from the 2015 National History Day-Orange County competition. Capping months of research and preparation, student projects were displayed and judged at OCDE’s main campus on March 14, and an awards ceremony followed two days later. Hundreds of students to receive free backpacks, school supplies

On a warm Monday morning, a Feed the Children truck rolled into the Orange County Department of Education’s main campus and workers began unloading 22 pallets with boxes full of donated supplies for students experiencing homelessness. In total, over 1,900 items were dropped off, including backpacks filled with school supplies, non-perishable food, hygiene essentials and children’s books. [...]
