VIDEO: OCDE program provides parents with the tools to educate their children at home

If you’re not familiar with OCDE’s Community Home Education Program, it bundles an array of resources designed to help parents who choose to educate their children at home.

CHEP dates back to 1988 and currently serves about 600 Orange County students from transitional kindergarten through eighth grade. Along with providing curriculum and support through its team of certificated educators, the state-funded program also offers tutoring, lesson plans, assessment tools and even social activities.

Our Media Services team recently caught up with Principal Jane Doney and her staff to learn more about CHEP and its strategies for partnering with parents to support student success. Take a look.
