Governor’s latest spending plan calls for increased school funding

If you’ve ever thought about becoming a teacher, this might be a good time. According to a recent article from EdSource, California is reporting teacher shortages in most subject areas. Such a disclosure might result in increased federal assistance in the form of tuition grants and forgiveness on some student loan debt for those willing to fill the gaps. [...]

OC schools not affected by LAUSD’s decision to shut down campuses following threat

The decision to cancel classes in LAUSD was taken "in an abundance of caution" based on a specific threat reported within that district. OCDE has not been notified of any similar reports involving Orange County schools but will continue to work closely with law enforcement officials to ensure the safety of students and staff.
